I’m not trying to be sexy. It’s just my way of expressing myself when I move around.
– Elvis Presley

We’ve heard it said a million times that being sexy isn’t just about looking like a supermodel; it’s not about your body weight or your waistline. Sexy is about feeling good and being comfortable in your own skin.

You don’t have to spend hours in the gym to do this… but there are some simple fitness tricks you can do to make yourself feel sexy.

#1 Respect Your Body

Whether we’re male or female, there’s a constant bombardment from movies, magazines, and even society about how we “should” look. When we focus so much on how our body should look, we forget all the things that it can do.

To develop a healthy connection with your body, try doing yoga or pilates.

For independent writer Crystal Cha, doing yoga daily — as part of a 30-day yoga challenge that she discovered through KFit — helped her turn her life around.

“As I discovered the ways my body could bend, the ways that it could take pain and transform that pain into strength and endurance, it not only grew my muscles and stretched my body — it helped me grow and stretch my mind and see things in new ways,” she said.

Workouts like yoga increases your awareness of your body and as you focus more on each pose, you focus less on whether your tights make you look fat or if your chest is too small.

As you practice yoga, you become more aware of your body and eventually, begin to respect all that it can do.

#2 Try New Things

When your brain is happy and healthy, your body feels better too. Research has shown that when we experience something new, our brain’s “reward centres” are activated and they release a large dose of dopamine, the chemical that makes our brain feel rewarded.

Stick to your working out schedule but shake things up every now and then. Try hot yoga, fly yoga, pole dancing, Zumba, or maybe even Muay Thai.

Your brain will thank you and you might even discover a new passion! As you discover new things and stick to the ones you’re passionate about, you’ll feel even more confident in yourself. And we all know that the more confident you are, the sexier you will feel.

#3 Jumpstart Your Mornings

There are heaps of studies that indicate a correlation between morning exercise and how good you feel. Getting in a quick workout at the start of the day can put you in a better mood.

Starting your morning right can set the tone for the rest of the day — you’ll feel more upbeat and subsequently experience better social interactions with your colleagues, friends or partner.

Remember the reward chemical dopamine? When you work out, your body releases more of it.

Imagine getting a present when you wake up every morning! Wouldn’t that put you in a good mood for the rest of the day?

#4 Challenge Yourself

Don’t you feel amazing when you’ve achieved something you didn’t think you could? Ever wanted to skip with joy or pump your fist into the air when you’ve succeeded at something? Doesn’t it feel good? Doesn’t it make you hold your head higher?

Success is sexy… but only when you’ve been through a challenge. Easy wins may be easy to come by, but they don’t leave you feeling as good.

Putting your body through a challenge, stretching it to its limits, and discovering that it is able to triumph… that feeling is indescribable. You can learn a new sport with friends, pick up a new type of dance, or even do bootcamp.

At some point, it won’t matter how your body looks or whether it fits into society’s “requirement”, working out will help you love your body, even if it’s not a size zero.

Keep pushing your body with KFit.

#5 Find Your Fit

Everyone is different and sexy is subjective. If you want to be comfortable in your own skin, find what fits for you.
